It was a great pleasure to attend the WA Rangers Association Conference on Sept 18th and 19th and to learn about issues faced by hard working rangers.

In addition to the usual headaches of firebreak inspections, dangerous dogs, and school parents and their parking misdemeanours, this year’s conference focussed on illegal dumping. We were incredulous to learn about the brazenness of some people, not to mention what and where illegal dumping takes place. Not only does the clean up cost a lot of money, which is passed on to tax and ratepayers, but quite often the waste is hazardous.
